    Born: June 23, 1963 in Sioux Falls, S.D.
    High School: Graduated from Lennox (S.D.) High Schoo, 1981.
    College: Graduated from Southwest Minnesota State University, 1985.

    Timmerman joined KFYR-TV in Bismarck in 1989 after previous professional stops at a radio station in New Ulm, Minn., and a television station in Sioux Falls. Timmerman has won nine state sports broadcaster of the year awards (four with the National Sports Media Association, five with the North Dakota Broadcasters Association). He’s won more than 20 Eric Sevareid broadcasting awards and in 2004 was recipient of the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association story of the year award, becoming the smallest market winner of the award. Timmerman was the long-time TV voice of North Dakota state high school basketball tournaments and the Dakota Bowl, as well as color analyst for 14 seasons of NDSU football. An all-state football player in high school, Timmerman played one of year football and four seasons of baseball in college.
